Well here it is the day before Christmas and I don’t know about you but to me nothing says “Holidays” like creepy clowns making long-distance phone calls. So harken back to the days when phones had cords and slogans like “Reach out and Touch Someone” didn’t have really uncomfortable subtexts.
great, thanks, now i’m going to have my own kind of scary nitemare tonight!
yeah, I know. When I put up the ad I wondered how many nightmares would be spawned. Sorry about that! 🙂
I remember that ad from when I was a kid. That clown scared the hell out of me. There is nothing good behind those eyes.
Indeed no. I wonder what the effectiveness was of that particular ad anyway? We all seem to remember it so apparently it had some impact on the viewership…
Hmmm…I don’t think there was ever an appropriate time for “reach out and touch someone” to be said. While I’m on it, how did The Police get away with the stalker classic “I’ll be watching you”???
Heh, the police, I think, have adopted a less obvious PR campaign in recent years. 🙂
Yeah, I remember that ad too, but I do not remember realizing how creepy that clown is…
Yeah, the thing is, I’m just not sure why the clown is even necessary or appropriate. In the vast majority of cases, Grandma is not a clown…. such an odd choice.
Ha! Ha!
